So I've been using steam big picture on my 24" monitor for a while now on most thirdperson, driving and side scrolling games that I've been playing....however, I have tasty 50" TV sat downstairs just asking for some gaming action. Is there any easier way to connect my of to it other then hauling it downstairs? Was considering a 20ft HDMI cable but I realised that my xbox controller would be out of range at that distance :p.

If this is in the wrong thread then let us know and I'll sort it out, wasn't too sure.

Thanks in advance!

I assume by "of" you mean PC. :)

And other than taking it down there isn't really a decent/cheap/good option that I am aware of. I'm sure more will reply to say if I am wrong or not.

The setup I use is a laptop (with xbmc and steam) hooked up to TV downstairs and part of my home network so I can stream media from my PC.

The laptop is more than capable of playing the steam games that I want to play with a controller as most of them are indie games (and emulators shhh!). However, I'm not sure how well it would cope with current driving games.

And you should play 3rd person games with kb+m. But each to their own. :p

Definitely meant pc fella, its late >_<

And that pretty much sums up what I thought, nevermind :/

And I used to be a massive console gamer before turning to the pc a few year back and I can't get my hands/head around third person games without a pad in my hands. Visa Versa for first person games on consoles with gamepads...lost a bet with on cod ont xbox recently to a 9 year old cousin, the gamepad just felt foreign to the genre!

And I've been out of the emulation circle for a while, are there any solid ps2 ones knocking about this day and age?...too play digital backups of the games I already own of course.

If yer hppy to use a 20ft HDMI cable, why not just use a 20ft USB extension too and plug the 360 receiver into it?

I'll look into it fella! never thought of that >.<

If they are limited to 5m couldn't I just get 5, and piggyback them?

Edit, just read up on extension USB cables and I now realise you can't piggy back them due to a drop in signal, however I've found a 10m one that claims to boost the signal so I'll give that some research!
