Bought some DLC for ETS2 yesterday evening (so I could then install ProMods), not quite enough in Steam wallet to cover but after clicking to top up from my bank account, the transaction then went through and took the whole amount from the bank leaving the wallet untouched. Sent a message to what seemed the best option under the pitiful "support" headings, but so far no reply (big surprise).

Anyone else had this happen and were you able to get Steam to sort it out, or is refunding the bank and deducting the Steam Wallet likely to be beyond the ability of their support staff. I didn't want to refund and rebuy the items as I've already done a fair bit of buy/try refunding and I know they can get funny if it's felt you're abusing the service.

I did consider it, but at this point I've installed ProMods which needs all the DLC, so too much to untangle.

Worst case, the credit is on there for a later purchase, I guess.

Happened to me a week back. bought Prey and wanted to get rid of the £1.83 in the wallet and pay the remaining balance via Visa. Yet upon checkout it took the full £6 from the Visa, despite it telling it me it was going to use the wallet balance.

According to Steam Support it happens if you hit the "Back" button on their browser. The only solution they offered was to refund and rebuy but as noted above, I've already got ProMods installed so didn't want to bork up my files etc.
