So I'm having a couple of issues with Steam and can't seem to find a fix, Google shows the issue as being common but no suggestions seem to fix the problem.

For example I could login to Steam no problems at all yet next time I come to login it will hang for 3/5 minutes on Connecting to Steam then finally logging in yet If I touch anything to do with Steam whilst connecting I get "Steam Client Boot Strapper Not Responding etc" sometimes after logging in the second I click anything it crashes. The frustrating thing is this issue seems to be random but once it starts happening the only way to fix is a quick restart then it works (instant login) for the next login or so until same again rinse and repeat

I have re-installed Steam even done a fresh install of Windows 10 (Not specifically for this problem but still) Here's to hoping someone knows why this is happening and how to fix :D

Shut down Steam. Go into the installation folder and delete clientregistry.blob if it's there, it's essentially a cache file iirc.

This has been the usual fix for a number of years now.

Just had a look and it seems I don't have the file "clientregistry.blob" hmm

Try setting to Windows 8 compatibility?

Youtube claim for Win8 compatibility fix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmz_oAy2icg

Thanks, Will watch the video and give it a try!

Edit: Changed to Windows 8 Compatibility mode, I haven't had the problem today but it has logged me in no problems except a little delay with the Windows 8 Compatibility mode introduces but I can live with that if it fixes it.
