steam community - out of beta

Yeh, pretty crap update tbh. Messed around with the voice chat for 2 mins, putting people on hold and what not, then had a browse at how long i'd had my ID for and how long i'd played cs for this week, then that was it. Dont think it'll be revisited much.

you must have missed all the group action then

It's a shame there in't more.. haen't had an event in a while. Only really had one that worked, but I think that's just because the other two had either very little notice (I only found out 5 mins before it started) or were at a bad time (same time as an England match)

i prefered the "older" version. i dislike having an "overlay" for viewing the friends list, and everything seemed much calmer, simple before

We had one this Sunday! The Sunday nights have been very well supported.

There will be a CS:Source night every Sunday. Plus i am trying to get some more events organised for other mods but the one for Ins had a very poor turnout. I will do another one next week or something.
The problem with the Community is that people don't check the scheduled events.

heh. Must not be paying attention then. I think you should probably announce them on the forums otherwise we have to specifically start steam and look at the group page to find out they're happening (unless online at the time). :)

The overlay can be turned off, plus it still is simple to use.
bah, i thought disabling would bring the old-style friends list in cs1.6. guess i'll have to learn to like the new "improvements".

on another note - you can see your current "game" status on the community pages i.e. currently i'm "online". is there any way of getting access to this data e.g. if its stored in a public xml file, or something?
