Steam Connection Problem

I'm running a proxy tunneling program and want to run steam so I can play CS online. Problem is, steam won't let me tell it what port to use and so tries to connect using its default and so fails. Anyone know how I can get round this?

I do not believe you can. You could try running it through Sockscap, but I don't believe even this method would allow you to play online.

I heard from someone you can edit the steam exe so that you include the port number? I've tried googling but I can't find the formatting, anyone have a clue?
