Anyone else using a Steam Controller here?
I got one with XCOM2 but it proved to be worse than kb+m even for that game so gave up on it and it's gathering dust.
How are others doing, have things improved somehow, what control scheme do you recommend?

I sold mine to cex for £35 I couldn't get used to it I bought it with proceeds from a knife sale so no biggy.

I've found it's highly game dependent.

I couldn't play Fallout 4 for example, which was a real shame as I was looking forward to lying in bed and playing it over Steam Link. It's not that I'm anti-pad, I played FO3 and NV on 360 putting in over 300 hours on both. Oh and Skyrim too. Make that 400 hours say?

However something a little slower paced, or something requiring less snap accuracy like Firewatch and this device shines. Played through all of FW laid up in bed with no dramas at all.

So in summary, I guess my biggest gripe is with the right haptic pad aiming mechanism which I could get used to in time but I'm infinitely more proficient with a mouse/keyboard or a 360 pad so rather than slog through the first hours of a game getting zeroed in I'll stick with what I know. Unless of course the game fits the pad.

Steam Link on the other hand, now that's a cool and well implemented piece of kit!

I'm certain an Xbox controller works on the Steam Link just fine.

EDIT: I've just re-read what you said sorry

Xbox One controller some users having issues. It also can have a problem with the USB or micro-USB lead detaching constantly. And used wirelessly, it can need setting up again each time you load a game. Only takes a few moments but still. Windows 10 updates have caused problems too. If you use it wireless, best to go with Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries + charger (Panasonic K-Kj17Khca4A Eneloop Pro Individual Cell Battery Charger With 4 Aa Ni-Mh Rechargeable Batteries, 4 Pack).

Xbox 360 has no such issues and is what I'm using while I wait for something better to appear. The One is nicer if you can get past the issues described above.

The DigitalFoundry channel on Youtube reviewed several controllers, may want to check it out.
