googling it seems a common issue, sometimes fixed by rebooting but for me it hasn't.

the volume keeps turning itself down to zero. the volume button feels ok it doesn't seem to be as simple as being stuck down.

really annoying and it's out of warranty as well.

I don't suppose anyone here has fixed one like this have they?

If you turn it up does it immediately turn itself down or after a while?
Thanks for the reply. sometimes it may last a few seconds but it's almost always right away. randomly before after a reboot it errored the opposite way. not only did it not turn down, it wouldn't turn down at all, only up using the buttons
however I can work with that as I can turn it down via software.
(indeed IF it turns out the button is faulty I may just destroy it so it won't work and that is how I will turn it down. I don't want to do this untill I am certain it's hardware however and not a weird software glitch which some claim it is

Have you got a lot on there? I had the same issue last year with mine, messed around for a while trying to stop it happening with no luck, I was pretty convinced it was a hardware issue but in the end I did a factory reset and it fixed it. Bit of a pain if you do have a lot of there though, especially if it doesn't fix it for you

If you have a spare SD card around you can install Windows on it and boot the deck from the SD card leaving the internal drive untouched, it'll be slowish but might be an easier way to test if it's a software issue.

Forgot to ask too, are you running windows or steamOS on it?

steamOS. I factory reset and unfortunately no dice. I have just put a support ticket in . I am not sure but I don't think it is under warranty. I may take it apart myself or see if a local phone repair shop will take a look

When did you get it? Can't be two years.
I thought mine was out of warranty getting it in July 2022, but after going through support and following all their steps to resolve my issue they just opened an RMA and replaced it for no cost. My issue was different though, random crashing.
Warranty was never mentioned and I went into the request without asking for an RMA.

just had the rma email . it's going to.. Prague I think it said. still just in warranty I got it 2nd hand 2 months old back in November 2022. it says if they can't repair they may send new machine out. would be such a shame if they only had oled models in stock :D
