Steam Down For Everyone?

mines been open for an hour while i wait for a download to finish, seems to be working fine for that, but ive only got it sitting on the library page so...

Down for me and me being the usual thickhead I am decided it might be a corrupt install and so I decided to remove Steam and reinstall it....

About a zillion games have now been removed and Steam still does not work :(

bah..!

Are you sure? Are the games still not in their folder within the steamapps folder?

If not, this is why you install steam on a different drive from your games installs..

Completely sure :(

I know that I have done this in the past and it has always left the Steamapps folder, really useful for the obvious reasons.
This time a normal removal and the entire Steam folder and subfolders are removed complete..!

The reason as to why Steam and the games are together on a separate SSD is due to it usually leaving the Steamapps folder intact. Now might be the time to revisit that option.

Then again I always thought that the games have to be within the Steam client...? So I can install Steam to the C drive and then the games to my other SSD...?

Grrrr

Yup, I have the steam app on my d drive and the majority on my E drive, with a few others installed on my U drive which is my fastest SSD.

As I can't even install Steam at the moment, well can't login and download my games etc, is there anything in the client I need to do to ensure the games download to the desired drive etc rather than the default sub Steamapps folder...?

It might well be obvious once I get back up and going but I can't do that, yet.

Thanks

in settings just setup folders on the driuves you want under steam libaries when you install a game it asks you what drive :D
