I can log into steam and play games, but the news/store page does not work?

Failed to load web page (unknown error).-118

Also tried going on there forums to find out why, but they don't seem to work either anybody else having this issue?
 
Store.steampowered.com is fine, but the actual Steam client won't load the store or community pages for me at all. The library and games are just fine though.
 
I've had the same thing for a couple of days now, Looks like a steam issue as lots of people are getting it apparently.
 
Even Store.steampowered.com does work 80% of the time lol, ow well lets hope it gets fixed before the sale ends.
 
What ISP are you guys using? It's working for me now, but I know Virgin Media users, including me, have lost access to the Steam store in the past.
 
Everything is working fine for me. That is, except my games. I bought the Company of Heroes games last night. I launched the original and Opposing Fronts fine, set the graphics options, unlocked the Opposing Fronts stuff, went to launch Tales of Valor, and I'm getting a 'failed to contact key server' message (apparently they ran out of keys...), but now the original and Opposing Fronts refuse to launch. The little splash screen comes up, goes away, and that's it. I tried restarting, launching into full screen etc.

I've hardly ever used Steam in the past, but I'm incredibly disappointed right now...
 
BT Broadband, and ive left my router off for 30 mins,put it back on and still not working
 
BT Broadband here - same issue -118 can't load store page. Tried rebooting router.

As I mentioned in the other thread also having the issue with the latest steam update where it uses 100% on one core on the games library page if you have any updates paused :( fortunatly swapping to new tab stops that happening.


EDIT: Reloaded just after posting this and its working now.
