Can you post your download speeds on steam say downloading a game?

I've just had fibre installed 70mb down 20MB up and I'm getting this.

Just wanted to know if it was my end or whether steam are limiting bandwidth.

9.0MB/s is more towards an 80Mbps connection :) (or at least the download speeds I've seen on my old 80Mbps connection).

I had 9.2MB/s at peak during my GTA V Steam download. Didn't screen grab it though. I'm on BT Infinity 2, 75 Down 19 Up.

So all is good?

I think I'm getting confused lol..Not had a coffee yet..Yeah its not a 100MB lan connection like in Sweden!

:0

I get anywhere between 8.9MB/s and 9.3MB/s on BT Inf2 80/20 downloading from Steam so OP's speeds look fine.

MB isn't the same as Mb

In your opening post you write them incorrectly too.

Connection speeds are typically displayed in Megabits per second, whereas filesizes are MegaBytes.

If you divide the Megabit number by 8, you get MegaBytes.

So your 70 figure divide by 8 = 8.75MB/s. Factor in Steam/Windows displaying slightly incorrect figures and this shows that you're maxing your connection.

---

You mention 100MB Lan in Sweden. If you mean Gigabit lan, then yes, that's 125MB/s or 1000Mbps.

Yes all those things . It was 9.04 am on my day off open reach turned up at 8 am it was pre coffee :p

Mine maxes out at about 950Kbps.

The joys of living in Hull where we can only use Kingston Communicatons for phone and broadband. They also have the slowest roll out of their fibre ever.

Do you mean 950KB/s (around 9Mbps)? 950Kbps is less than 1Mbps which is a connection speed I haven't seen in many many years.
