Steam downloading at different location

Morning all,

My girlfriend and I are both back our parents at the moment (buying a house), her parents have slow internet, I have 150+meg. So I can download a 20gig game in a very short time.

If she logs into Steam at mine, with a portable USB drive, can steam download to the portable drive and then can she simply copy and paste that to her steam directory when she gets home and then verify the files?

Will it be an absolute farse?
 
Download it at yours.
Use the Backup facility in Steam to drop it on the USB.
Restore it at hers.
EasyPeasy.
I do this because my ADSL is slow and I have two PCs to keep loaded up.
