Is this because of the summer sale? The fastest i've got was 125kb/s but its an average of about 15kb/s-25kb/s.

Its taken 6-7 hours just to download 900mb!

What's causing this?

I'm downloading COD: black ops if that helps.:)

Try changing to random countries, i only had 2.1mb/s...changed to finland, got my full 6.2mb/s :D

It must be terrible only being able to download at 2.1mb/s!:p

Edit: Worked Brilliantly!:D Went straight up to 350kb/s After i selected Toronto as the location:cool:

Edit: DRopped back to 65kb/s:(

I've had this lately - even before the steam sales started - caught it bottoming out at 21KB/s :( changed content server and it picked up - back to a constant 10Mb/s - but I seem to need to change them quite often now to get decent speeds... gonna suck if this becomes the norm.

I downloaded Borderlands from the Netherlands server at around 1.2MB/s on a 20mbit line. Not bad.

Day 3 and still down loading this ****ing game
Gonna be 80 years old before i get to play it!:p

Sitting in the 20s still :(

I was using UK-Manchester yesterday, it was only giving me an average of 315Kb/s from a max of 700Kb/s. Portal 2 (10gb) should have taken about 5 hours, instead took closer to 12. The same happened with last years summer steam sale.

The region change SOMETIMES works for me, but not often, maybe 2 out of 10 times. There used to be a way on steam to show server loads for all regions, I don't know if this is still available? Using that method I always found the Ukraine and Iceland/Greenland servers to be at low load all day everyday...

Edit: The server status page is still up here: http://steampowered.com/status/content_servers.html - I'm not too sure what the [filtered] servers are for?
