Steam downloads

Not that I know of.
If I want something to finish whilst I'm gaming, I'll quickly alt+tab back to the Steam window, and set it to continue downloading.

Nice to know, since the borderlands download is going really slow at the minute, guess everyone wants it.

This is how I have been doing it, but thought there might be a specific setting, guess not.

I think its that way so that it doesnt hog the connection when playing online but true, an option would be good

I've suggested it about 100 times on the steam forums, give the user an advanced option to choose a limit to the download speed whilst gaming..

On my old connection, I could happily donwnload a torrent at 300kb/s and my in game ping would be fine.

Of course, all of the kids on the steam forums replied..

"Shut you up nooooob, no one needs that, steam is perfect"

iv also made a few topics like this, from what i understand it is an automatic feature in steam that people wanted from start. Nobody wanted to go into settings and manual set there speed so they can play online. Times have changed how ever. Millions of people use steam and a manual setting is needed. I hate having varied speed from 800KB/s to 100KB/s to 500KB/s to 30 and back to 800KB/s. Id prefer a setting so i can set it at a constant 300 or somthing.

Ah that explains a few things. Wondered why it kept pausing.
I only use Steam for singleplayer games so it's extremely annoying (especially since Just Cause crashes on alt-tab, so I couldn't even tab back to manually restart the downloads).
