Like Most of you people i have been buying the Steam games when they have come on the xmas deals but.

I have never had a problem with steam however after reading on here that some games have a drm i have started to get a bit worried, Is there a thread or a easy way to find out what games have a DRM?

And if so how do you get back a activation, as i've just reformatted my pc 4 times in the last couple of months and with itunes i just drag the whole folder and no new activation is needed can steam work like that or do you need to unactivated it to reactivate it?

One last point isn't it about times these companies give us what we pay for, instead of selling us a game thats good then a couple of years down line bringing it out again with a new face job but nothing different
on my high horse :(

Yeah I think X3 on Stam used to install something like starforce of whatever the DRM was called, but they eventually removed it in a patch. I'm sure there are other gamesI have that install DRM stuff.

X3 had it's DRM removed from all forms of installation. It doesn't even need the CD keys these days.

UBISOFT are usually the worst for this sort of thing, i just refuse to buy any games with DRM.

Steam is just one big drm platform :p People overlooked it because it was the only way to get valves superb games though, and have gradually come to accept it but it's really an anti-piracy tool. Helps that it can be cheaper and quicker than driving to the nearest large game store tho

Any single player games on steam can be pirated, most of the valve games are multiplayer only which is usually impossible to pirate in the first place.

The thing that annoys most people is only being able to install games X amount of times.
