Got a copy of Dues Ex HR via coupon, added it to my Steam account (at work as I have rubbish broadband at home) downloaded it and copied the dues ex - human revolution folder from my work PC to an external drive. Copied this into my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<user name> folder at home along with the config files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps and started Steam up.

Steam wants to download the whole thing again, which will take all weekend  Any suggestions?

If the actual files are there, you can either verify them and Steam will just do that or just let it download them. What Steam will, actually do is appear to download them but the percentage left to download will go down very quickly when it realizes the files are actually there already.

I got the 'game unavailable' when it updated the latest patch. I had to disable Avast and delete the ClientRegistry.blob and let Steam redownload it that Client file.

Dues?

Ignore the 1%, that's just how much you've done of the remaining download since you restarted Steam. How much is left to actually download?

Yeah I can't spell either :p Anyway, solved my own problem, I am indeed a pleb.

Folder was supposed to go

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

I put it in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<user name>

Moved it over and Steam "downloaded" it at about 1GB/s :) Don't have any time to play now doh!
