Steam Fail?

IS it just me in London, but has steam been pretty crap for the past few months compared to the previous 5 years?

Maybe its a Virgin Media thing?

Cant sleep need something to do .

I find steam to be pretty consistent everywhere. Great for cooking vegetables and ironing clothes

Steam is bad with Cooking Veges. Then again i not fan of steam cooked vege. Just blurgh

Well Im downloading DiRT 2 now at around 1mbs and speedtest shows my download speed is around 9mb/s so i suppose its decent.

yeah i get it also, my max dl speed is about 350kbs. a steam download jums from 100 to my max constantly. never settles

I'm on Virgin media and my average DL speed is around 2mb/sec, sometimes I can reach 3.1mb/sec.

So I wouldn't call it a steam problem but a problem with your ISP, I am with BEthere and I live in London (South-west) and I get great download speed for what I am paying for.

It's Virgin Media, the only time they were good was when they were seperate cable companies

On Be and getting my max downloading TF2.

Maybe you're being throttled or just a congested exchange.

If you get slow download speeds, change your location in Steam to another part of the UK, or Europe.

I find bacon cooks better depending on its Origin, vegetables cook better depending on the green man who prepared them.

Then again I will have bacon with vegetables on Impulse.

on virgin here normaly get 3.9meg using london servers I find that if I download a lot in the week the download speed slows down a lot

UK servers are a nightmare for me, usually less then 2Mb/sec - if I connect to Paris then I get 8-10Mb/sec. That's with Virgin.
