I think it will be a tad more than this with memory prices going up and that.

Still, it's Valve. I did find it odd that the new Steam machine hardware is memory limited.

Almost like they knew what was going to happen re memory prices. I mean if you are a big corporation you can assume they know more than the average user right...

Anyways, despite all that I would be shocked if it's less than £800 on release.

They are "trying" to get the price under $999(the price of the Valve Index) but they aren't making any promises. That sounds to me like reaching that price is going to be a struggle for them.

So, If I had to guess a price, I will say it will be released for $999. Making sure they are under that psychological barrier of $1000, even if their margins suffer.

Will be shocked if it releases lower than $899. Actually, I will be very surprised even if it's $899.

I might not be able to send you SteamFrame's, but i can send you something you smoke that will make you think you have a SteamFrame.

So I get that ram prices are going to mess everything up, and I love valve stuff as much as the next guy, but if this comes priced at twice the cost of the quest 3, who is buying that?

People who haven't upgraded from their Valve Index's/Vive Pro 2's because they hate Meta.
VR enthusiasts, those who buy multiple headsets will buy one.
And Valve Fans. Yes, there are people who will buy this, just because Valve made it.

I don't think Valve are doing this to sell a load of headsets or increase VR use.

Yeah i guess. I'd MUCH rather give valve my money than meta. I've been thinking about getting a headset for a while. Mainly just to play hl alyx to be honest. Im not sure how much use it would get after that (ive very limited time to play anything). The frame looks perfect, but I might have to make do with a used quest 3.
