Steam - Game updates

The View update info is where i was looking and its not the new UI update as nothing has changed.
Ive just seen the post about Defence Grid updating in the other thread so i understand what the update is but was more currious as to why things update with no info. Ive seen it on other games such as dod

It happens to me all the time for no reason whatsoever. Day of Defeat: Source does it frequently and then when I check on the update information section it's always telling me about changes to Team Fortress 2 which I don't even own.

My steam is doing strange things, it connects ok yet I cannot login to the store.

Yup, everyone. They're updating their servers at the moment.
If you want to buy stuff then you can log into the store via the steam web page.

Quite funny seeing it follow it's continuous wave pattern then plummet to nothing. Hope this isn't going to be a continuous thing though as they change over to the new client.

Cheers, glad to know it's not just me, I've rebooted and it's still not letting me play Defense Grid, I'll try again tomorrow, hopefully it's fixed by then.
