Steam games problem

Hi,
I had installed on my system the episodes 1 + 2 of Half Life 2. I uninstalled them, now sold them, but apparently they aren't able to be installed on someone elses PC since they are still registered to my steam account. How do I get round this please?

You can't.

As far as i am aware you cannot sell games on steam.

demon is right - when you register a game on your steam account you cannot then resell the game. I guess it would be possible to sell the steam account detials but i'm pretty sure it's against the T&C and probs would end up getting your account closed.

Yes, if Valve catch wind of you doing that, they'll close the account. Many times I've regretted buying things on Steam because all I do is buy stuff on special offer and never play it. There's always something to play on the consoles so I wish I could sell my account, too.
