Hi guys i was just wandering when you purchase any of the games available to buy on Steam, do you just pay to download them or do they actually get shipped to your house?

You pruchase an electronic version of the game which is tied to the account you buy them on. You will recieve no physical copy. You just simply download the game and play :)

It's a good example of the first popular sneak-em-up...you'll have seen most of its tricks in subsequent games, but yeah, it's still enjoyable.

Ohhh... I have just found Theif on the store which i have never played before! Do you guys recommend giving it a bash?

It's available a LOT cheaper in quite a few online stores. Same goes for most Steam titles. Cool thing is, if you have steam already installed when you install the game from your retail disk, it registers with steam and you no longer have to have your CD in your drive to play the game.

Picked up Dark Messiah of Might & Magic for €10 recently and was pleasantly surprised when it did this.

Hmmm, i think it is only certain newer games that were designed to work with Steam from the beginning that do that.
Some that i have, i have had to type in the CD-Key in Steam for it to be added to the account. Still, it is a very good idea and means you will always have a copy even if you lose the original CD. Makes it impossible to sell on s/h mind. Maybe Valve should implement a system whereby a user can remove a registered CD key from their account (removing it from the Steam database) allowing them to then sell it on.

yeh mostly just the source games, one exception being Prey which you could transfer the CD key for because the original content distribution system they were using kind of.. died.

if you where able to remove games, people would just get accounts hacked all games removed and sold off. i got Defcon for a tenner, i wasnt to bothered about having the real disc to play with.
