Be careful someone in steam friends asked me to join there community group so i i joined how ever he gave me a link nearly identical to steam community's and it looked like it.

then i noticed i got hacked.

how ever he uses now my account or other account names and he goes trough a friend list and does the same to them so be careful.

;/

If he gave you a link surely you should have noticed that it was dodgy? I check every URL before I enter any personal info'

thats the point it was given by steam friend i know so i did not check properly.

when it was to late i checked the url it was bit different then steams.

Steam friends aren't really friends, they're people who want to kill you. I wouldn't pee on half of them if they were on fire, especially some of the ones I play L4D with.. scum the lot of you :D Now let me win sommat! :p

i've no idea how it happened to me, but my account's password was changed once. Steam were helpful, although the emails from them were just copy and past jobbies - they sorted it out.

iirc i had to send them either a picture of a serial code, or my debit card number that I had used to purchase games.

well I m okay most of my *steam freinds* I have on xfire anyway and I tend to check and I don't lick URL links unless steams.

question did you have to fill out something ? on that url ?

and most of my games I have the siral key in paper so they will be screwed over for my account lol

Perhaps you could give us a bit more detail as to what the site looked like, the steps you took etc. Just in case any of the rest of us find ourselves in a similar situation. At least then we'll have the knowledge to identify the scam.

So, you're telling us that you reported to Steam last night that you got hacked and you have your account back within 12 hours?

Yep...this might have to go in the other thread where people were abusing Steam, as clearly their customer service is appauling and putting all those games in one program and getting hacked spells doom forever...oh wait.

I got it back in an hour .

but then i made a detailed letter with all steps that it was required to get the account back. taking a picture of cd-key , The Invoice ID and the Transaction ID of bought recent bought games and etc..

the web page looked exactly like steam community : https://steamcommunity.com/ just in url was a bit different

Not steam.lo.fr or something similar was it? I was directed by a group member and when I got there I thought "hmmm, not the official site" so I typed in a bogus steam account :p to see what would happen, redirected me to a random french site. Quite glad I never trust a messenger client link, even if it is someone I know irl.
