I have an original Steam Link box (SL) and an original Steam Controller (SC) that were released back in 2015. They've worked well in the past, but they have sat on the shelf for a year or two. Unfortunately, trying them this weekend was a fail:
When in the SL interface the controller works fine, but when I connect to my games PC the Steam Controller loses function; only the back button works to bring up the bottom bar menu in Steam. Once the bottom bar menu pops up, the buttons work ok.
If I close the menu again, then it reverts to only the back button working. Also, upon disconnecting from the PC the Steam Controller works as normal once again.
Connecting the Steam Controller directly to the PC and it works fine.
Using an Xbox controller works fine through the Steam Link box connected to the PC.
