Hi all,

Just wondered if you guys have used the permanently delete game feature?
i had so many games in my Steam account that i bought in humble bundles or Sales that after playing will never revisit.

i cleared them out as the thumbnails annoyed me distracting my choice of next game to play.

I cleared out around 50 games.
i'm sure some think i'm mad, or crazy thats fine, but one i deleted was Skyrim :p

I certainly wouldn't have deleted anything from steam. If the thumbnails are that irritating just uninstall said games and filter by installed games only .

I wouldn't remove anything from my steam account, I've never used the thumbnail view I have always had it in list and usually on installed games showing only.

Can't you just hide them?

No matter how minute the chance I'll ever get around to playing some of these second string games I've picked up through bundles and the like, I'll never delete them.

What is this madness?! like others have said i just use list view and created my own categories so it only shows the relevent games.

Don't understand why you would just delete your games like that especially when you can just hide them. Just seems like a waste of money and something i would never do.

You can permanently delete games? How? Also, why?

Why not just use the "Set categories" thing & "Hide this game in my library"?

Or do you mean you just uninstalled & list is set to "Installed" only?

Filter them with categories. I have a "Rubbish" category for junk I've picked up in bundles that I don't want to see. Deus Ex bundle yes, Invisible War, hell no.

I've become much more picky about what I'll add to my Steam Library these days...no more Indiegala rubbish just for cards. So yes I have deleted those freebie junk type games and no longer add them...saying that even though I knew they were junk I'd never play a permanent delete was still intimidating. Maybe I'm an idiot for not wanting the cards any more but I'd rather not taint my games library!

I didn't even know there was a "Permanent" delete feature.

But no, I would never use it - I don't really see the point, if it's not taking up space at all... :/

Yes but only some dross I bought on a whim or fancied a gamble with a random code purchase from a key site. Stuff I may play again one day are all hidden.

Just use something like IdleMaster to get the cards, without having to install those games you'll never in a million years install.

I still use Idlemaster...I just don't want the junk in my library in the first place. The more sensible thing to do would be to idle them and then remove them once I've got the cards, but even associating my account with some of the giveaway jank makes me shudder.

I have used it. Not as daft as people Initially think; I used it to delete the Mac version of a few games I will never ever play. I've removed original version of a few games that got replaced with GOTY versions FOC, and some older games that were replaced with steam versions.

i only use thumbnail view.
i permanently deleted games ill never play or return too.

login to help.steampowered.com seach a game click refund/permanently delete.

it will then be removed from your library

including uninstalled games! :)

i wanted to filter out crap from my uninstalled games list that was my point.

I've used it to uninstall demo's of a couple egames when I purchased the full versions, as well as swapping out games for the GOTY versions if I bought them,,

I've done it to truly awful humble bundle games, free games that wouldn't go away (coughdotacough) and games that have gotten free upgrades.

I have truly considered removing DayZ though. However it's presence reminds me to stay away from early access.
