Ok.. I stopped playing HL2 etc because steam kept loosing my login details/ stopped excepting my password. After months of resetting i gave up

Now I want to play again, and i don't have the same ISP.. so no password resets as it sends to the old email. Support are very unresponsive as well.

I still haven't worked out why it keeps not accepting correct passwords (even was 'remembered' by the system that work.. then don't).

All i want to do it play Ep1 again, but I don't want to give up my account name of *************. Pee's me off.

Someone guessed your password and kept changing it??!? Not sure why they didn't change the contact email, so that you couldn't reset it.

You should always keep your contact email up to date - then you'll always be able to get your password sent to you when you forget it.

If you find your self in this position:

1) Don't know Steam Account Password
and
2) Don't know, or don't have access to Contact Email

Then you are basically humped.

You can try contacting support, and if you could prove your ownership of the CD key that is registered with that account, then you MIGHT be able to get them to reset the contact email and password for you. BUT it will take ages, and most likely they will tell you that there is nothing they can do.

Might be worth a try, but there's really nothing else you can do.

You can still normally receive your e-mail from your old ISP e-mail address when you change ISP...

Finally persisted with this again. Emailed the support peeps, and included a game key with the email. They reset my password so I was finally able to get in.

The key here is that on previous occasions they just bounced my emails when asking for help, so I was known the wiser. You HAVE to register on the support site (they should give you a link) so they will then accept any support questions you have :-)

Hopefully I can now play all my fav steam games again.

VERIFY YOUR ACCOUNT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!!!!!!

Apologies for the caps, but seeing the trouble you had in the past, verifying your e-mail address will prevent it.

LOL, yes I followed the instructions to the letter and verified my email account :-) (and changed password, and changed the secret question lol.)

Looks a fair bit different to the last time I was actually able to log in. Real shame, as I used to waste my hours on TFC with a clan in the old days, and now couldn't play TF2. (now I am married etc, so unlikely to happen again lol).
