Is Bioshock worth buying/playing? (me being out of the gaming scene for a year or so)
EDIT: nvm, bought Bioshock and Portal - bargains... who needs to do a Long John Silver at these prices
Yes Bioshock is awesome, great story, not really any refreshing gameplay elements but it just works, and does great, one of the highlights of the last few years for me
When does the deal end? I'll be getting some money on the 5th Jan and want to make the most of this offer

just bought Audiosurf and Trials 2 for a fiver before the sale ends, never played either before
Well in my first round of buying yesterday I got:
Left 4 Dead
Dawn of War Everything Pack
Beyond Good and Evil
Peggle Deluxe and
Luxor 2
Then today I couldn't resist another look through and I also got:
Bejeweled Deluxe
Heavy Weapon Deluxe
Reaxxion (looks rubbish but it's 99p so what the hell lol)
Trials 2 and
Rainbow Six 3 Gold
Both of those lots all adding up to the sum of £53.65 (with Left 4 Dead and Dawn of War Everything Pack making up a lot of that total)!
Am I right in thinking you don't get CDs from Steam do you? You would have to download all that? Must be near 50GB?
No it's all delivered via the internet.
Steam is pretty quick though on most days - you can download that (dependant upon your ISP / etc.) in no time.
You can also just download what you want to play then move on or re-download stuff later.

I just bought the valve complete pack yesterday, at 40 quid it seemed like a good deal.
Although i am just a little bit wearey after that fiasco with steam's masterserver being hacked and ppls credit card details being leaked.....

Steam does use compression when it downloads, for example I got Trials 2 which is 150mb, yet the actual download was 60mb~ (seen in View -> bandwidth monitor).

Couldn't help myself, started off with Bioshock only then bought Audioshurf, Trails 2, L4D, UT3 and then Company of Heroes Gold! Coming in at under £50 giving me a lot of gaming for the money.
I'm also buying hoping to support this type of game delivery for the future. Sick of annoying copy protection stuff coming with cds. These will go with me anywhere, any machine.
