I downloaded I Fluid from Steam and the game is missing some DLL files and wont run. Here's my ongoing complaint through the support forums . See what you guys think....

ME- "STEAM - I have bought the game I Fluid on Steam. The game won't start. It has a DLL file missing. You must know this!!!!!. Can i please have a refund immediately."

STEAM- "Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Please complete the suggestions here:

Let us know if you continue to see this issue
."

ME- " Hello again. Firstly you have not answered original question in any shape or form. I require a refund. The game does not work. Why have you just sent me a link to a forum that i have already read. The downloaded game is missing DLL files.

...would trading standards be interested in this?"

STEAM- "Please install this package to correct the issue:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...d9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&DisplayLang=en

As with most software products, we will not offer refunds for purchases made online as outlined in the software license - please review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information.

We will make an exception for pre-ordered games if the request is received prior to the release date. "

ME- "still no joy. The game does not work. please read your own the forums. There is a missing dll file. by law i have bought a product that does not work. i require a refund.

How can you sell games that don't work? "

8 days later still no reply. Not very impressed.

why don't you just download the .dll off the internet?

Tried deleting all the content then redownloading it via steam?

- Its seems like a nice idea execpt....1. No AA makes it look terrible 2. Got stuck on level which requires your to hop past some hot cakes ....i can get past the first set but not the second ...i gave up.

Tech demo but it does remind me of Micromachines on PS1

You got as good as you gave.

Try being nice and not a hobnob, may get somewhere.

Well played for Steam not taking any snit.

w.w....what?

lol,

Im afraid you would be at the bottom of my support list lol.

You acted a tool, end of, yes you purchased something that may be faulty. But having a go from the "get go" will not get you anywhere.

If your an adult you need to look at the way you approach things, if your a kid and act like this with your parents they need to give you a slap lol.

Sorry im sounding harsh, but i manage a support team and have to deal with a few tools every now and then ;)

***off ppl.

requesting a refund for something that doesn't work - nothing wrong with that.

Please fully star out any swearing.

Perhaps you ought to try treating them with a bit of respect, rather than acting like a complete twonk with a chip on your shoulder. Also, while you're at it, have a wander into GD and read through the "Why do some customers think they can **** you off?". Then perhaps you might realise just exactly why you're getting nowhere with your query.

They have no obligation to refund you, as it is a software license and you've also been given a resolution to the issue. Sidestepping that, you've ignored what they've suggested and after acting rudely and on the offensive, you're actually surprised that you've not received anymore help?

I'm sorry, but having been customer facing in previous roles, I have no time for people that won't help themselves and I can personally see where they're coming from too. They've given you things to try and you can't be bothered. Tough luck tbh.

So hang on. You act like a total **** and expect priority customer service? Wow, I weap for humanity.

+1

You accused them without knowing for a fact from the get go & then not even given them a chance to make good.
Thank good the rest of the civilised world does not act like that or we would be spending 90% of our working life's looking for a job because we would get fired on the first day of every new job for unforeseen errors or for making a mistake.

No, you're right, but unfortunately you've gone about it in the wrong manner entirely. Try having some manners, being polite and courteous, and I'm fairly certain that you'll find that customer service people that deal with you in the future will go out of their way to assist you. A little common decency helps a lot in this sort of situation. Acting like a spoiled brat doesn't.

Judging by your immediate response above though, I doubt you'll ever learn your lesson. You seem to exude rudeness.

By the way, that second link that they provided links to a Microsoft C++ redist package, which will most likely contain the DLL's that you need. This would possibly indicate that it isn't an issue with the game missing these files, but your operating system, therefore meaning that the game isn't actually faulty (which I'd doubt anyway otherwise Steam would have removed it by now). Have you actually bothered trying to install that package to see if it helps? I bet it does...

Its not that, its the attitude and the way you go about it ;)

smile and people will smile with you, act a tool and well you get to where you are. Getting no where.

somehow i doubt that the game is missing a dll file if it works for other people

maybe your pc is missing a redist or something

edit: does anyone get the feeling OP thinks this thread is one of -those- threads that get the internet worked up about something truly unfair?

Actually, the DLL files are in the wrong directory. You just need to move them to the correct one. This is a very common issue and is exlained howe to fixx on the Steam Forums. I had the same issue.

To the OP. The reason, like everyone else has said, is because you sound like you are 7 years old.

...would trading standards be interested in this?"

"would your email by interested in my delete key?"

would be the thought going through my head if you emailed my support desk.

Trading standard wouldnt give a damn, you are given a chance to read the T&C, you obviously never & you are now blaming them for a fault, which I very much doubt is due to the game, they point you in the right deirection and your asking for a refund.

I LOL'd at the way you went about it.

Can see with your attitude your going to last forever on this forum :)
