Steam info GONE?!?

Hey,

Been a week since I last logged into Steam (not a big gamer anymore

) and I just went on to check out L4D. Saw some info on it today so about 1 hour I logged in.. or tried too.

It came up with my username (ricko) but no password.. so I tried my usual passwords and the variations on them I use.. nothing.

Started to panic a little bit but I used the retrieve info function and got onto my hotmail account I rarely use (bare in mind I created all of this 5-6 years ago). Found 2 steam emails reminding email + username.. can't really remember if I read those myself :confused:

but anyway, after 6 trys trying to get the correct secret q/a (forgot you had to be precise and didn't know if I had put High school at the end etc) I finalyl got in..

I found NOTHING. Everything was gone - all stats, community info, avatar, my alias was changed to my email etc. But my games were all there... well mostly.. only CS and HL were there with "play now" all the rest I had bought on there/activated were "Preloaded".

Anyone know what's happened???? All my game stats are gone.. just:

Steam Rating:0 - *** Suck
Playing time:0 hrs past 2 weeks

How could all that info go? Could a hacker/hijacker remove all the info etc?

probably better sending a support ticket to valve about this.

yeah

let them know and if requested provide proof of ownership of your account, like a photo of a game with a key that is tied to your Steam account, with your Steam info (except your password) written on it in your handwriting.

Okay i'll do that.

I forgot to add I tried to retrieve info by entering a serial code (I used Red Orchestra).. said it had sent an email to the owner.. but I haven't recieved anything.. worrying

Maybe if you've not logged on to Steam in a long time then all that stuff resets?

It's only been a week though...

Tombo - searched this old email account and found a lost p/w email from steam from about 1 year ago.. defo isn't.

Yep.. but mine's registered October '03

Plus it's only got HL and CS and the other random games that come with them (blue shift etc) in the "View all 9 games" or something.

No HL2, CSS, Portal, RO etc.

It doesn't sound like you really have a problem

All your games are still there...by the sounds of it you have to install the others

all the rest I had bought on there/activated were "Preloaded".

The stats aren't that important or is it all your achievements, etc for TF2?

Either way, send a Steam support ticket and change your password.

Did you delete clientregistry.blob? Also delete all of the files except for:

Steam.exe

And the folder:

\SteamApps\

And run Steam again, let it update and log in.
