I bought games on steam sale I have not even played yet
I actually bought a RETAIL game yesterday
...The Witcher 2 premium edition, I wanted all the stuff in the box
That is the only retail game i have bought in the last year!
Before making a Steam purchase ask yourself:
"Am I going to play this within the next 3 months?"
"Is this the cheapest it will be for a while?"
If no, wait. It'll be on sale again.
if its on for around a fiver, will it be much cheaper if atall and when will it go on sale again? might aswell grab it while you can and whiles its cheap imo
even if it doesnt get played, still a bargain

Anyway, Steam is not the addictive thing, its the games you get via it. Well, for me it is anyway.

Yes it's addictive lol. I have several games that have been in the sale recently but i doubt i'll get chance to play them until next year now that there's an increase of big releases!
So Steam isn't "addicting", it's your shopping habits

foolishly I've bought a lot of games through Steam, without first checking prices elsewhere

Yep, pretty much this tbh - still have a huge backlog of games to play!
I've got about 10 steam games I need to download, but because of my useless 50gb download allowance, I'm well restricted, and then I get whopped with mass bills because 1gb over = another pound ontop of my bill. 20gb over = £20 ontop of my bill :/ so annoying !!
