I just downloaded Bioshock for 3.49 again even though I had the disc when it first came out...

So cheap for the odd blast from the past and no disks collecting dust lol

I have a lot of games on disc that i've just bought on Steam if they were £5 or less just because it's so much easier to install/uninstall, constantly updated and no disc needed is good too.

I only really buy my games on it now as it's much better, who cares about a box and a manual to be honest.:p (some Steam games have manuals anyway in their game folders)

I have just worked out how to install steam on my Windows Home server too. This has the added bonus of running from any PC in the house without installing steam on the local machine and never having to worry about hard disk space.Or moving the steam directory. I can just plonk another disk to the storage pool and I don't even have to think about it.

As its on a gigabit LAN its fast too

I love Steam:cool:

The main problem is you end up with loads of games you don't have time to play.

I bought Stalker for £1.79 last christmas and haven't played it once. Also need to put more time into Batman, Doom 3, CoH, Bioshock, Mirrors edge, Tales of Monkey Island, and Psychonauts. Barely scratched the surface of any of them.

I still couldn't resist Red Faction Guerilla, and Metro 2033 this week though. Also currently downloading Overlord purely because it's less than £1.

I need to stop but I don't want to :D

You got a guide for that? Would be interested in doing that with five different machines in the house.

I've downloaded Morrowind and Silent Hunter 3 on my netbook, not having an optical disc makes Steam essential. Would like to get Quake I on there next.

That is immensely cool! (something iv never thought of doing yet....)

Steam is just convenient as you dont have to do as much waiting for awesomeness... (though I still have that terrible memory of unlocking hl2 on dial up)

I still have memories of lugging my pc to a friends house along the road to unlock hl2  :p I remember one day it refused to open in offline mode after a crash and I had to go back and re-login.

Times have changed.

i keep downloading demos just to see what they look/play like, my HDD is getting very full!

Is Doom 3 on steam?! hmm...

Yeah, i remember a few years back most people slagged it off... but it does kill off buying second pc games does it not?!
