Ok so my little brother (the tit) asked my mother if he could borrow her card to buy a £4 game. She said ok. 10 mins later he comes downstairs saying he accidentally bought it twice, but no issue he will just give her some money. All is ok

one day later (now) £160+ has gone out. 32x £4 and 4 x £10 (he is lucky he was at school) because naturally mum is FURI:mad:US!

He claims (after a phone call, sitll at school) that he bought a few things on TF2 through the ingame shop. but admits to the 4 games costing £10 each so..

how do we, if we can, get any of this all back? its all those little £4 payments she wants back as that is the bulk. What can we do? We dont have a lot of money, she is a single mum of 6 kids. Its not like she can just say £160 gone oh well no biggie.

Please advise!

he is 15. she isnt an idiot for trusting her children. She has always trusted me and iv never done this. Even the others have never been so moronic. Most of it seems to have been bought thought the TF2 ingame shop which he obviously just went nuts on.

She has every right to be furious. He stole that money. Now she cant afford anything at all for christmas for him...

Thanks Forde. That is sort of what I was getting at. It seems like most of the commenters here bashing my mothers parenting skills do not have kids. or maybe just one young un. Anyways opening up a support thread now and will see what steam says. As for reversing the charges, surly because steam now holds the money and the transaction is complete it would be impossible to reverse?

thats what i thought wes. Him loosing christmas presents is fine. a suitable punishment for sure. but it kind of ruins the atmosphere as you can imagine. Initial rage seems to have subsided, lucky for him he was at school. No PC for him now either.

if mum gets the money back and the account is disabled that is fine. He only has a couple of game (and half of those were gifted by me which i got in the summer sales) seems apt punishment?

hahahaha yeah iv seen that. And my bro has turned into a whinylittle git since hitting his teens, That is the reaction i predict. Already sorted travel to go and see it. Mum is hoping that reversing the charges works and his account is disabled now lol.

im struggleing on how to even word this steam support thing lol.

Hey guys, some of my family are blessed with chronic moronocity and as such ordered a boat load of crap without permission. can we get it back?

What i dont understand is. My brother is a smart kid. AND hes extremely good at maths. He never ever spends any of his money, just saves it and saves it. What crazy things does TF2 offer that drove him to this! All the money was £4 and £10 wallet credits. that new steam thing where you can store money on your steam account. which after the first authorised one he was just able to one click add every time himself it seems. and he spent it all in TF2! all in one game!

she wasnt going to spend that on him. Besides the twins, the youngest are only 1, daisy the next up is 4 then 9 then 15 then 19 (me)

the oldest get the most. usually £100 at christmas for the olders which is saved up for over time.

he has 108 items in his backpack it seems. The linking thing doesnt work. i changed his name to something i cant post here. might take the site a while to update.

steam got back to us! they have wiped his backpack and refunded the costs! Because all his purchases were for the INgame TF2 store they have completely cleaned out his TF2 account and refunded it all!

so thats a thumbs up for steam!

thanks for the help guys.
