Yesterday I wanted to play Left4Dead, a game which I paid for, so after a day of work I went home having hopes to be able to play. How wrong was I...
I started Steam and I got the dreaded error message : "Can't connect to steam networks" Of course I knew that the servers were up because I could look at the network status of steam showing 100k Users online.
So this is what I did after a little research on the net :
This is really odd because I've been playing the L4D demo a few days back with no problem. Also it looks like something is blocking my steam connectivity because when I launch it, I see the update steam bar appear but it stays at 0% for ever than crashes saying it can't connect. But how come my router would suddently block steam or my firewall?
Last thing I'm going to do is try this method of freshly reinstalling steam hopefully it will work maybe
Anyone could help ?

So this is what I did after a little research on the net :
- Deleted the file ClientRegistry.blob (Apparently this can cause issues sometimes) FAIL
- Downloaded installer from steampowered.com and used the "Repair" option FAIL
- Made sure that steam was an accepted application in Windows Firewall FAIL
- Opened steams ports in my router (This one is quite odd because I went to portforward.com and they said my router was not capable of forwarding that range of port, even tho I could do it on my router..) FAIL
- Deinstalled and Reinstalled steam with a freshly downloaded installer (Can't connect, sometimes I get the following error "Can't load library steam.dll") FAIL
