playing l4d just (in a lobby) and steam dc's saying its logged in on another computer.

After reconnecting, and doing this process again for another 10 times the other person gives up and i change my password and email.

Stopped now, so hopefully its ok.

Just a word of warning, keep your password long and complicated. I'd hate to loose my account now, I've spent so much on it :/

I had my steam account hacked before. I had absolutely no idea how, but it was during a brief time when lots of other people were getting their accounts hijacked so god only knows how.

if you really must type your password onto a pc that isnt your own then type it in parts.

ghi
def
abc

like that....goes for credit card numbers too
after you typed a few numbers letters then click the mouse where the next few go

an average keylogger would actually know what you are doing, your attempt will be futile at best...

doesn't matter if you start typing randomly in random spots in random orders with random cursor movements with random focus...

Plus paying for hours more internet time in your local cafe!! :p

why would it be futile if it is only logging keystrokes ?

if my password is abcdefghi
i type in ghidefabc and just click the mouse as to where the letters go next rather than using cursor keys or typing them in the correct order.

ive never used a keylogger but wouldnt have thought that they monitor mouse actions.

There's your answer.
DON'T login on PCs that you do not fully oversee the security of, and are not 100% sure that they do not have a virus on.
Other users of the PC may not be as tech aware as you, and some will even install keyloggers on purpose!

I have no clue what my steam password is. was a long time ago when i created my account and steam logs automatically lol.
