Steam keeps deleting custom shortcuts?

Title pretty much, it's happening almost all the time, if the shortcuts aren't gone, then the custom images are. Does anyone know what causes this?

Came on today and couldn't see Far Cry 3, Sims 3 or Skse.

I've always let it shutdown and sync before exiting my PC, yet still it deletes the custom images several times a week and the actual shortcuts at least once or twice.

I just had a look and I got two plain white steam shortcuts on my desktop right now...But my steam Farcry 3 one is still fine

It's annoying isn't it, Steam has so many issues they just cba to patch out. :/

I'm confused do you mean shortcuts on your desktop?

Both, if you have a shortcut in your library, and one on your desktop, they'll both disappear at the same time.
