Steam Link/Controller or alternative?

Now i've lost my office to make way for the nursery, I need an effective way of gaming in the lounge (although there's no room for my rig in there!)

Is Steam link any good? Any alternatives I should be considering?

I used the steam link to browse the web and stuff in bed with the steam controller, its good since you can type with the controller too.
If I was downloading it got really slow and delayed so probably need good internet connection

I have a steam link, it isn't bad there is a bit of lag so it isn't suitable for some games.

Also it is best with a wired connection which I do have.
