Hi all looking for a little help here.

I've been trying to setup and use steam link but all Ive been having are issues.
Originally I could not add windows and other 3rd party games to steam but after a lot of googling and trying a few things, I finally found a app called UWPHook which did it for me it for me.

After getting the game on steam, ive not been able to get the controller to work with the game after it loads, the controller works fine before the game loads bot after it loads I cant do anything.

any suggestions ?

Steam cannot pass controls through to windows uwp games etc. Its an issue with uwhook, instead look at virtual here in steam and that will basically do usb over IP and directly connect your controller to the remote machine as if it was local. The steam app effectively installs the vh client on the remote pc and on the steam link it will install the vh server.

If on android or android TV you'll have to install vh server directly on the android device... If steam link is running on a TV then I think you're out of luck.

Virtual here costs but I've found it invaluable in getting my controllers and other devices passed without problems.

Hmmm strange. I use GloSC with no issues on Tomb Raider via Windows app. Also works with origin.
Did you get the correct id for the game in question?

That's ok, I don't use TV smarts anymore...stand alone boxes. Does GLOSC allow any device passed through to act as a system wide XInput or only the steam controller?

I'm not sure to be honest, only ever used it with steam one as my other controllers are xbox, so they just work.

Just a update.

I tried it steam with GloSC today,it seam to have added a few more drivers for the controller.
It's still a headache, its only picking up some of the buttons, its not picking up the analog sticks, the movement is a little too fast and it still thinks im using a keyboard and mouse.

I used the last comment in this thread - https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/0/1728701877507803983/

Basically:
Make sure in Steam's controller settings that all the Controller checkboxes are checked. Especially generic and Xbox controller.

In GloSC click on Create New then name the game.

Make sure Enable Overlay and Enable Virtual Controllers is checked. Don't need enabled desktop-config checked.

Under Launch Game click on UWP and find and select the game.

Also Close Shortcut when launched application closed can be checked.

Click Save.

Then Add all to Steam and reload Steam.

Setup your Controller profile if needed. Or use with Mouse and Keyboard. Should launch just fine in Steam Link.

In Rare cases you'll launch the game in Steam then have to click on the start menu and and open the game for it to pop up after loading it in Steam.
