Steam Machine Spec tower only

I've only every put together quite high end systems so my overall knowledge of specs is pretty low.

What I'm after is something good enough to play steam games such as Bastion, Plants V Zombies, Faster than Light, Rayman, Child of Light. Maybe Minecraft.

The usual sort of side scrolling colourful games that kids would enjoy. This doesn't need to run Battlefield4 or anything.

I only need to put together the tower and I'd like to make 2 of them, one for each kid.

Other than the above it would just be something to do homework on.

Was looking at no more than £300 a machine but maybe that's not possible? The cheaper the better basically but not to the point that it would struggle to run the above games, I'd like to run the above smoothly on medium settings.

Any help/guidance appreciated.

Isn't the similarly-priced A8-7600 superior to the A10-5800k for gaming on the iGPU?

IIRC, the 7600 uses the newer R7 iGPU, which outperforms the Radeon HD <whatever it was, can't be bothered looking it up again> on the A10 5800?

There are newer A10s with better graphics, but these are the more expensive 7700 and 7800s I think?

I'm planning to put build an A8-7600 based system for HTPC/basic Steam box/Minecraft purposes. Bonus is its lower power use, too.

Ah right. I thought there was 'cause I'd specced up a machine for myself. Must have specced the APU from a competitor... :o

So, it's about 10% faster on the iGPU than the 5800k, it seems. I thought I'd remembered it being more than that, although perhaps that was with higher speed RAM, which I seem to remember the R7 iGPU benefiting more from? Very good for a 65W chip, though.

Anyone know if OcUK are planning on stocking the A8-7600?
