so, steam has been updated and you can now sell tf2 items for steam wallet cash, at the moment there is limited items though.
i also think you can sell games but im not 100% sure

I reckon that would kill steam if it did ever happen...

Who would be stupid enough to pay the extra price for a brandnew digital game download...;)

Example
Brandnew Farcry 3 download £30
Secondhand FarCry 3 download £15

:p How can you have a secondhand/used download :p

It's limited to consumables within TF2. The steam trade cut is 5%, TF2 game specific cut is 10% on top of that. Its expected to roll out to ingame items and then possibly into spiral knights / Dota2.

Chapparal - he means games tradable as gifts, not second hand digital sales.

Because you're making the assumption that there would be enough "used" keys to satisfy demand, that all or most of the people who bought "new" sell up quickly.

Also, the type of people who wait until it's £15 before buying won't be buying it at £30 anyway.

There wouldn't be, this wouldn't really affect first week sales, which are generally the most important anyway.
