Yup, New Steam look by the look of it, mine updates by connecting to the website yet I can't actually log into my Steam account what sense does that make huh?

Lol, its been like this for a year or something m8. Just wanted to proove that it updates but I just can't connect to the account, what is the account held on a different server? because it doesn't make sense that it connects to update the platform but it won't let me log in, I am lost.
 
O...K...

Can someone at least answer why Steam can connect to wherever to update the platform but I can't log in?
 
hmm, tell us what you have done

from other thread iirc you havee:

tried at mates house: works?
direct connection? : doesnt work
etc etc
 
Mine updated ok and Ive been in and out off CS:S most of tonight with no probs. You still having probs ? Tried a reboot and what about the old fav. Delete: SteamRegistry.blob Steam.dll and SteamUI.dll and reconnect to steam again.
 
Oh and as posted on other thread the Fav list works now .... all my CS:S fav servers where listed in fav section even though in old version it was empty ! Sweet :D

Well you know what? Screw you. You want it fixed, but refuse to believe it can be anythings fault other than Steam? How narrow minded do you want to be?!

I already said that a dodgy cable only affected [/b]one game[/b] for me - so why don't you just try it? Or are you seriously that computer illiterate that change what cables you use is going to cause a big "p'up"?

You really think everything's working 'perfectly', yet you seem to be the one with the problem? Let's summarise:

*Your account does work because you can log into another PC with it.
*You've tried a direct connection into the phone line, to no avail.
*You've formatted your PC and still no worky.

What's that say to me, and everyone else here (except for you)? That there's a problem between YOUR ****ING PC AND THE STEAM SERVER! That could be your modem, the cable you're using, your actual phone line, or your ISP blocking the login server (unlikely, as that'd affect every customer of the ISP).
