Anyone finding since the recent Steam interface update, when you launch a game instead of starting discreetly and minimising to the hidden icons on the taskbar it's coming up with the full screen and all the pop ups?

Is there a way to rest back to how it was. Google not much help as all it lists is how not to have Steam run on starting the PC, which I already have implemented anyway. This is when you start an actual game.

Thanks.

Yes I have found this happening too, most annoying, anyway to revert back to the older more discreet behaviour anyone?

im on the steam beta & not seen anything to fix that, but then i actaully like it :p
Why?? What is the benefit of it? If you fire up a game ... or a simulation in my case then thats what you want to do. If I wanted to peruse Steam I would launch it separately for that.

I hope they fix this soon, its stupid.

Oh I misread the post I thought you meant when you open steam.

When I open a game steam does not pop up as you suggest but I’m on beta I’m about 7 builds ahead. (Get daily updates) I don’t get the issue your seeing

But I launch all my games from playnite

Can anyone do the Beta? any downsides to doing that? Also how do you launch steam Games from Playnite <---- Whatever that is ... excuse my ignorance LOL, I'm an elderly gent :)

Never understood why people are happy to have two clients running instead of just the one.
Actually it’s better, I tell you why I thought the same

1 i have thousands of games across multiple platforms steam, gpg, epic,Ubisoft, Xbox , PlayStation, switch, Amazon, emulators for dos
it allows me to see them all in one place think plex for games

2. Has multiple plugins I use one that allows me to keep a playlist to compkete across all my games or maybe you want how long to beat numbers ?

3. It’s super lightweight and lighter than any game client. If you launch a game yes it will launch say steam that’s correct. However when you close a game you can tell it to also close the game client. No more epic is open steam is open Xbox is open. Just playnite and the fans your playing

4. No ads or fluff I launch as game, I don’t see any of the store ads just my game

5. Big picture mode puts steam to shame steam looks like it’s from the 80s

6. Fully customisable & has themes if I want 1000 games on screen at 1 time I can

7. Filters If I want to see all games for a certain platform that are installed I can.
If I want to remember which platform I have a fane on I can. I have 50 options to filter and sort from

So yes it’s not for everyone but it’s fantastic but multiple platform collections

i see it as im running 2 game clients vs 6 ill forget to close
