Steam offline mode

Will steam offline mode keep working in offline mode for 2 weeks? I'm taking my pc on a holiday and would like to be able to play the odd audiosurf or Garry's mod or HL2 or counter strike condition zero with bots...
But I'll have no net... So if I switch to offline mode now, will it stay in offline mode after I reboot my pc, like 20 times ?

I thought steam needed internet in all conditions. Might as well buy more games on steam in the future instead of wasting my time going out buying or waiting on a retail version to arrive .

your taking your whole pc with you and your going on a holiday?!

Yes, couldn't stand being at family without it, boring place with no internet, in the middle of nowhere ( farm ) and a lappy won't do any more, had it last year and ended up burning like 50 cd's ( it has no dvd player) all night before I left so I had enough to do.


Now at least I'll be able to make progress in all those sp games I haven't played .
And be able to take my dvd's that are already burned instead of converting every dvd into 6 or 7 cd's...

Steam offline mode won't let me play Condition zero here , the only game that works is audiosurf but CS:CD and HL2 don't work .

Disappointed in steam .

Well I still have cs1.6 cracked luckily to play with bots while I'm away, don't have hl2 though and I should have downloaded it to play, i mean why on earth have they blocked sp games to play without an internet connection ?

Ohwell, just a week more at most without net on my pc ( internet cafe atm) then back to TF2 online .

why doesnt hl2 work ?

It says:
''This servce is not available with steam set to offline mode'' or something like that...

Make sure you've told steam to 'remember your password' or whatever it is, on the login screen, or it will give that vague error.

All those games work in steam offline mode.

No they don't, I found Internet on my pc ( wlan that popped up yesterday unsecured) and in offline mode, there's no hl2 :


Same for CS: CZ , etcetc

1) Game downloaded 100%

2) Login name and password 'remember' check box ticked

3) Game run at least once while in Online mode

Yes I now have net (steam online) and still says 100% rdy.

yes, I'm the lazy type, I'd hate to retype my passy each time, it logs me in automatically... Besides audiosurf does work so i think this is fine
3: Yes I've actively played Condition zero before leaving in online mode, and played hl2 more than once...

With any luck I won't need to use the offline mode any more, provided some neighbor around here doesn't add wep or wpa... Retuning in a few days to home with fast internet too ( atm stuck with rubbish like 2 mb or something like that) so no problems I guess...
