steam on 2 pcs

might be a daft question !!

can i run steam on 2 pc's?
i got main rig with steam but just built htpc which would be nice to run the driving games etc on that

Yes, but you can only log into one account at a time. You can have 2 accounts of course ... but you'd have to buy games twice

i miss read that for a second !! thought it said i have ot have 2 accounts haha
well i can only play 1 game at a time so logging into 1 is fine.

You can also have one open in offline mode, and the other in online mode, which means that you don't have to sign in and out when swapping between them

This is what I do with my laptop and main PC, the laptop only goes online when I either buy a new game and have to download it, or when I know there's a patch for a game that I play on it.

Steam Guard will pop up the first time you open it on the second PC, requiring you to check your email and enter a code into Steam to authenticate the PC.
