If you are flicking between 2 locations on a regular basis and access your STEAM account from 2 different IP addresses every other day, does it throw a fit or does it not see this as a problem?

I will be writing to VALVE support but thought would ask you fine fellows while I await their reply.

Thanks all.

I don't think there will be a problem as long as you sign out on one computer before you sign into the other. Loads of people must do it.

Can't see a problem there although if you have any CFGs saved they will only work on the PC where they are saved.

Login at work & home all the time, just asked for password on the other machine as opposed to auto login if I've logged in elsewhere.

yup

i login regularly from three locations, you just get password promt if you've logged in somewhere else

I know at times, my family and I have all been using my Steam account simultaneously. It's supposed to force all but one connection to "time out" and reauthenticate but it's never happened yet.

I have Steam installed on my PC, my laptop, and my girlfriends PC. Depending where I am, I log into Steam on the appropriate machine without any issue..

Works a treat :)

I have steam on 3 computers, the main issue is that when my gf wants to play peggle I either have to start her in offline mode whilst i play another steam game on another computer.

I love steam, but its kinda annoying when you think if you bought every game on your steam as a boxed version, then you could play those separate games on each computer at the same time without hassle, but with 1 account you are limited to 1 online instance.

IF steam ever punished you for logging into the same account from another IP I'd be very dissapointed. esp as how steam can auto-login and be a startup process, but i dont think it'll be the case.

I just cancelled my Crysis warhead store pre-order in preference to a steam copy.

That's actually a very good point. Perhaps Steam should change to reflect this.
