STEAM on Server 2003 wont login using remote desktop

Just installed Steam into a new 2003 vm and im connecting to it via RDP.

Trying to login to steam and the app just sits there doing nowt.
I can login to the steam store on the server just fine but not with the client

I've deleted the clientregistry.blob file
Installed latest flash and java
.Net updated.
uninstalled rebooted and re installed

Any thoughts please.?

When you connect via rdp, as you doing so with the /admin option? This logs you on as if you were at the console basically.

How you do it varies depending on the version of RDP, I think the latest one is literally with a /admin at the end, older versions used /console I think.

Yup tried admin option as im using an mmc snapin.

Had a look on the steam forums and it would appear thats its not supported, yet im sure i do it via rdp on my Win7 media centre.??

Oh well back to HLDS tool again and the CLI.
