Steam mover

Allows you to install steam wherever you want, automatically moves files and creates mklinks to avoid installation issues andcan reverse the process entirely. All in a tiny file size and easy to use interface that shows which games have been moved. You can also move games to various locations. Just get it. Everyone needs this.

I have never heard of Steam mover before. I might just have to try this out.

It will change your life! Or just make your gaming experience and storage management a bit easier.

Just point it at your steam install location and then create a folder on your SSD for the games. Job done. Click the arrows next to the games you want to move and let it do its thing. Click the arrow again to move it back when you need to free up space for new games.

Well be putting everything (os, games etx) on 1tb of ssd in my new build

Nope, Steam isn't limited to 6MB/s. I'm on Virgin 152Mb and I get steam downloads at up to 18.1MB/s

hmm, thats off then, i only ever get a maximum of exactly 6, in the settings i have it set to no limit, maybe i should set it to 25 rather than unlimited?

sounds like you're getting about what you should mate, 45Mb/s = 5.625MB/s

you had me confused there a second, megabits vs megabytes, fair enough then although easy confusion. either way 20 minute install times is less than it'd take for me to get to a shop that would sell it anyway lol.

I ended up having Steam itself (along with all my other programs) on my 256GB MX100, and all my media and games on my 2TB HDD. Although I do install some more disk intensive games like ARMA to my SSD.

Exactly what I do.
