Steam on your TV

I must be missing something.
Just looks nice a UI suited for a large screen while you're far away, as opposed the conventional UI and Windows desktop experience which makes it painful from a distance.

It's obviously nice, but I'm not grasping the hype.

Its optimised for controllers, if you can launch into it from windows startup it will be brilliant

Maybe I've missed a valid point myself, a post above mentioned bypassing windows, maybe poster meant windows still loads but you never see the windows login screen, it boots direct to Steam?

maybe its me missing a point, so dont worry about it lol

Of course windows has to load first, but the point is - you turn the PC on, and when it is finished loading, steam is active in fullscreen and ready to be controlled with gamepad. So you can play games like on a console without ever touching mouse or keyboard. The fact that windows has to load (because, guess what, Steam is not an operating system) is obvious.

Thank you OP!

So essentially this is a steam interface that can be navigated with a controller. The biggest thing seems like the browser interface.

Given that I've just wired up my PC to my TV downstairs (powered USB hub + 50FT HDMI+USB+CAT6), this could be good.. even though I just bought this little puppy.

Oof! It seems to require quite a bit of fire-power; it's pretty sluggish running from my laptop! It does look nice though.
