steam password

I'm logged into my steam account ok at the moment ,automatically. But i am about to do an upgrade and cant remember it . I have had a look in my steam folder and online but cant find it ..

Any ideas ?? as i'm trying to make sure i have all my passwords this time ..

I know that would seem the easyest way. But When i lost my pass a couple off years ago i had a mare getting it back . I thought i could retrive it from a file in my steam folder or something ??

If not i'll leave it until i rebuild then keep my fingers crossed , As its the single most expensive thing, pc wise i own :eek:

Your password isn't stored in a file on your computer. Not in a format you'll possibly be ever to read at least. :confused:

That would just be a massively insecure way for steam to operate.

Not verry secure of me . But i just found it in a 2 year old email i had not deleted from steam

Would make sure whatever email you use is the correct one in your steam account page before hand,

Doubt anyone would be that silly to make that mistake though lol

I used to have an Lycos email account linked to mine, lucky I changed it before Lycos accounts closed down as doubt it would have been a pain to get back into steam
