Hi all,

Have been trying to play CSS tonight and keep getting kicked from servers with some message along the lines of 'This Steam account does not own this game. Please log in again with a difference account.'

Have tried logging on and off, and the Steam forums seem to be fubared for me at the mo so I can't check there for answers.

And yes, before anyone asks, I am a fully paid-up, genuine owner of HL2 and CSS lol.

Been happening to me too, i checked earlier and there are a million and one threads about it on steam forums so its not a problem on your end, its yet another valve screw up

Steam has been getting worst and worst, it's almost utter dog poo. First their friend's list never works and secondly, adding servers to favorites just randomly disappear on next bootup. And now this problem all night of saying I don't own the game.

Their forums are always dead as well... LoL... :D

Steam isnt the worst thing ever, it doesnt ALWAYS have problems. But granted when they do come along they are a pain. No doubt it will be fixed by tommorow, surely you can hack one day without games?

Christ people do throw their toys out the pram a little roughly when they don't get their gaming working for a few hours.

It's a problem with Steam, I'm sure it'll be fixed pretty quickly.

Steam is a good platform and a good system when it works (big emphasis on this bit :P) but when it doesn't it really doesn't lol. Does the friends list still not work? Cant't remember last time I logged on and it didn't say "friends list is down for maintainance" or whatever it says.

ok yes this current problem is extremly annoying we had to cancel a clan praccy and a PCW last night because of it and if it isnt solved by tonightwe will also have to rescheduale a league match.

but it hardly warrents the response its getting, i mean i think steam is a great platform, although it does come with its niggles, but most of these are easily worked around, for example the favourites thing just means you have to exit game, open you server list through the steam control panel, then re-enter game, they shuld be there, if that fails log out of steam and repeat the previous steps.
friends network usually works for me, when it does go down for "maintainence" its only down for half an hour or so.
one thing i would like to see is other payment methods like switch or paypal etc, but thats a whole different matter to be discuss another time.
