Steam problem...

lo all, just tried to purchase HL2: Episode 1 and Sin: Episode 1... but firefox says "firefox can't open this address because the protocalls (steam) isn't associated with any program"

doesn't work in IE either, same goes for actually purchasing through steam

anyone got any ideas?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Steam. Backup your GCF files and any saved games before you get rid of it.

Could be router / issues.

Bear in mind SiN Episodes was released today, so it could just be down at the moment for purchases.

hmmm found a way to get around the problem...

if i got to start, then run and type

C:\progra~1\valve\steam\steam.exe steam://purchase/70

it brings up the correct steam screen for purchasing Sin (where 70 is the number of the game) :-/
very strange

will try uninstalling now PinkPing

just uninstalled, and reinstalled straight to a C:\Steam directory (missing out program files etc...) and it works a treat
