Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help.

Steam was installed on a harddrive that recently died.

I downloaded steam again to try and install it, comes up saying "Drive F:/ is not valid", so I went into the control panel, Add/Remove. And I tried to uninstall steam from there. Same error.

Im guessing I need to delete things from the registry. But im not entirely sure what.

Sounds like you have crap left in the reg as you suggested.

You could try cc cleaner?

If you have un-installed steam, cc cleaner should find the dead links in the reg and allow you to remove them.

beware cc cleaner also cleans out a lot of other stuff, passwords saved and cookies and such.
