Steam problem.

Hi, I have reinstalled windows, but my steam games are installed on a seperate hard drive, it's all there, but I've just reinstalled steam and it's telling me that my games are not installed, all of them!?!?!?

Any way of fixing this other than downloading them all again? I really dont have the connection to get them downloaded at the moment

if that happens just right click on them and update. it wont take too long and you dont have to redownload them, no. I guess it just checks them for integrity or something, but whatever it does it works lol

edit: you did reinstall steam to the same directory as the previous install, right?

but you don't even need to do that. you can just browse to where it was installed previously and run it. it will ask if you want to "install as a service" and log back in again. and you'll need to configure all your preferences again but that's it, job done.

You don't need to re-install Steam. Uninstall it, then just run Steam.exe from your seperate drive.

Or install steam and select you old steam location as folder and it will pick up the games
